Pend Oreille Microenterprise Development Organization (or "POMDO" for short) is a Washington State non-profit organization, aimed at fostering microenterprise development in Pend Oreille County and beyond. 

Established in May 2011 by Barb Smith and Phil Gordon, POMDO's first project was Bear Naked Adventures LLC - a collaborative student-run kayak rental business on the Pend Oreille River in Northeastern Washington.  Partnering with students from Newport High School, POMDO provided training, mentoring, guidance and financial support for this fledgling enterprise.  Bear Naked Adventures launched in mid-July 2011.  Learn more about Bear Naked in the KXLY Explorer TV piece below!

Our future plans include developing a training and technical assistance program for microentrepreneurs and potential microentrepreneurs in the Greater Newport area.  As we work on this, we'll continue to offer seminars and consulting services as time permits.
